Let's be honest
with each other.

✓  This is for you if...
  • You've tried before and it didn't stick, and you're ready to give it another go, this time with someone properly in your corner
  • You want a training plan that's actually built for your life, not for an idealised version of it
  • You're a complete beginner and want to start right, with no overwhelm and no intimidation, just a clear path forward
  • You want coaching grounded in evidence, without someone turning every session into a lecture
  • You want accountability that bends around real life, instead of the other way round
✕  This is not for you if...
  • You're an advanced lifter preparing to compete in bodybuilding or powerlifting. There are coaches better placed for that, and I'd rather be honest about it
  • You're looking for a shortcut. The work is real, and it's purposeful and worth it. Simple doesn't mean easy.
  • You're not in a position to commit right now, and that's completely okay. The timing just isn't right yet.
  • You want a template with your name on it. That's not what this is.
  • You don't like being laughed with. (Being laughed at is a different service entirely.)

If you've started and stopped before, that's okay.
You already know what didn't work. Now we figure out what does.

Everything you need.
Nothing you don't.

📋
Personalised Program
A strength and fitness programme built around the life you actually have, not the one where you get to the gym five times a week and sleep eight hours. Your goals, your schedule, whatever equipment you've actually got. If Tuesdays and Saturdays are all you can give me, that's what we build around.
📱
Delivered via App
Your program lives on your phone through Everfit. Every exercise has video demos, coaching cues and a place to log your sets, so you're not stood in front of a cable machine trying to remember what I meant.
🎥
Regular Check-ins
A weekly check-in, ideally a 20 to 30 minute call, or a form if you're short on time. Training, sleep, food and whatever else happened that week, then we adjust from there.
🔬
Evidence-based approach
Everything in your program is grounded in sports science research, not trends, not what looked impressive on Instagram, not something someone's PT told them once in 2014. And if you ask me why you're doing something, you'll get a real answer.
🧠
Nutrition Guidance
I'm not a nutritionist, so no meal plans. What you get is practical guidance on calories, macros and how to eat around training, built around what you already eat rather than what you'd eat in an ideal week. Birthdays and holidays included.
💬
Direct Access
You've got me on WhatsApp for the small stuff. The machine is taken, is this weight right, my knee felt weird. I answer during work hours because I also have a life, but I do answer.
Luis Reis, online fitness coach at Reis Coaching in Madrid
Evidence-based.
Human-first.
Occasional comedian.

Hi, I'm Luis.

I've spent my whole life around sports: football, taekwondo, boxing, swimming, the gym. These days I coach online from Madrid. And for most of that life I've swung between being fully locked in and slowly becoming Jabba the Hutt. I know both ends of that better than I'd like to.

I've always looked at people as a whole, not just the hour they spend training. Turns out taking a Psychology degree will do that to you. I don't coach the gym version of you. I coach you.

After years in the corporate world I decided to stop saving the thing I was actually good at for after hours. Turns out coaching people and product management are more similar than they look. Both are just figuring out what's actually blocking someone and removing it. Reis Coaching is what came out of that decision.

You'll be held accountable. We'll follow the science. And at some point I will probably send you a meme that is more relevant to your training than it has any right to be.

Simple from here.

01
Fill in the form
Takes about ten to fifteen minutes. Training history, what you've tried, what got in the way, what you're hoping for. Be honest on it. The form is not a test and there is no version of your history that makes me think less of you.
02
We talk
A video call, usually around an hour. We both ask questions and work out whether we're a good fit, what your goals are, how much time you have, your equipment and any restrictions. What matters most is that you feel comfortable.
03
I build your first programme
Based on what we talked about on the call, not some generic scenario. Everything lands in Everfit, with video demos for every exercise so you're never standing in the gym guessing.
04
You train, I watch
You log your sessions. If something's consistently getting skipped or a weight isn't moving, I'll ask about it so I can support you better. You've got me on WhatsApp for the small stuff.
05
Weekly check-in
Once a week we review what happened. Preferably a 20 to 30 minute call, or a form if you're short on time. Training, energy, sleep, food, life. Then we plan and adjust where needed.
06
Repeat, adjust, keep going
Most people find new goals as they move past their first ones. Programmes get rebuilt as you progress, and what we focus on shifts with your needs.

Things people usually ask.

No. That's like cleaning the house before the cleaner arrives. Wherever you're starting from is the starting point. I've built programmes around people who hadn't trained in five years and people who couldn't do a single push-up. There's no fitness threshold you need to cross to deserve help.
Short answer, you don't. Long answer, if you only have two 5L water jugs and a bucket of pebbles, we might be way too limited. If you have basic equipment at home (dumbbells, barbells, some free weights and bands) we are good to go. Obviously, a full gym gives you more options, but it isn't a requirement.
This really depends on your goals. Most beginner and intermediate trainees will see results with 2 sessions a week, around 45 minutes to an hour each. If your goal is mostly health, even 1 session can be enough, as long as you move around a lot during the other days and have your nutrition in check. We'll work it out together, based on your availability.
It's not what if, it's when. Life happens, we all have weeks where we can't do it all, and as long as you don't depend on sports performance to get paid, most likely no harm will come from it. Still, we can look at what made you miss the session and plan better where possible. (If you were hugging the toilet all day, that's not something we can polish, sorry mate.)
I'm not a nutritionist so no, I don't. What I can give is advice on overall calorie intake and macros, based on everything I've studied on sports nutrition. If I see you suffering with boiled chicken and broccoli I might also advise you on spices.
Month to month. Obviously I hope you stay for a long time, but if you don't want to, this is not a deal with the devil and you can opt out without selling your soul. I do need you to let me know by the 15th of the current month that you're dropping, so I can manage my agenda and availability for new trainees.
Then we build for that. Irregular schedules are a programming or planning problem, not a reason you can't train or eat well.
An app gives everyone the same programme and hopes it fits. It doesn't know you've got a bad shoulder, that Wednesdays are chaos, or that you've quit twice before and are nervous about a third.
From my side, I'll give you everything I have and know to make it the last time you start over. But I'll send this one back to you: why do you want to try again?

Just have a question?

The form at the top is for when you want to get going. If you only want to ask something first, this is quicker. Write it here and it lands in my inbox.
